Pete Souza

I've recently been following the works of the official White House photographer Pete Souza, his stuff is amazing. after having seen some of the images from his portrait book 'the rise of Barack Obama' you can't help but feel sympathy for the president, as the pictures make him seem so genuine, then again that was probably part of the brief for the photographers job.. In my opinion, it worked so good job Pete!

How do you become the official white house photographer?
This is how he did it: graduated with a Bachelor of Science in public communication from Boston University and a master's degree in journalism and mass communication from Kansas State University.
Of course it helps if you've got an incredible eye for taking portraits I guess..

Pete Souza was also official photographer for President Ronald Reagan, has worked for National Geographic (the dream) and TIME magazine, he was also one of the first journalists in Afghanistan after 9/11.

These were my favourites but if you want to have a look at the whole set you can check out the White House photostream.
